Celebrating 12 Years of Improving Lives by Modernizing + Securing Critical Infrastructure

Keeping People at the Center.

At the core of ICIT’s work is a people-first approach. We ensure that infrastructure decisions are trusted, transparent, and beneficial to the communities they serve helping build systems that organizations can stand behind and society can depend on.

Convening the Leaders Who Build and Secure Infrastructure

ICIT brings together senior decision-makers across government, industry, and academia to address shared challenges and opportunities. Through trusted forums, briefings, and working groups, we foster collaboration, improve coordination, and build the relationships necessary to deliver resilient infrastructure at scale.

Advancing Critical Infrastructure Priorities

ICIT focuses on the sectors and systems most essential to national and economic security, including energy, water, transportation, telecommunications, and the digital infrastructure underpinning them. Through dedicated initiatives spanning areas like federal resilience, defense infrastructure, workforce development, drones, and AI-enabled data centers, we address the most pressing infrastructure challenges of today and tomorrow.

Driving Insight Through Research and Education

Our research, technical studies, and publications translate complex risks, like cyber threats, emerging technologies, and infrastructure dependencies into actionable insights. We equip leaders with the knowledge they need to strengthen resilience, accelerate modernization, and navigate a rapidly evolving threat landscape.

HEAR FROM OUR COMMUNITY

Nick Andersen, Acting Director of CISA

The work of ICIT’s Center for FCEB Resilience to address evolving threats, enhance security, accelerate resilience, and advocate for a modernized FCEB aligns with and supports CISA’s mission.

Dr. Ron Ross, Sr. Fellow, NIST (ret.)

ICIT brings members of the cyber community together to discuss important issues facing public and private sectors. These discussions promote new ideas, critical thinking and help us to develop more effective and efficient cybersecurity solutions for the nation.

Ann Dunkin, Co-Chair for the Center for FCEB Resilience, former CIO for DOE

ICIT is for people who are interested in and engaged in securing our critical infrastructure, improving the resiliency of our infrastructure, and moving us forward.

Why ICIT?

ICIT is a non-profit, nonpartisan, 501(c)3 think tank dedicated to enabling the building, modernization, and security of critical infrastructure that provides for people’s foundational needs — energy, water, transportation, communications, and the digital systems that support them. We support the organizations responsible for delivering infrastructure by helping align technical decisions with community impact, policy considerations, and long-term performance.

The United States is in a period of historic investment across public programs and private capital, including large-scale development of data centers and digitally enabled infrastructure. As private-sector leadership increasingly shapes how infrastructure is planned and built, coordination, communication, and public trust are essential to successful outcomes. ICIT brings leaders across infrastructure, technology, and security together to support shared understanding, informed decision-making, and effective delivery.

Through this work, ICIT helps partners build infrastructure that communities rely on and organizations can stand behind.
